Hazarganji Chiltan National Park is a protected area located in the Sulaiman Mountain range near Quetta, Balochistan. Known for its dry temperate forests and rugged mountains, the park is a sanctuary for diverse flora and fauna, especially the endangered Chiltan Markhor.
The name “Hazarganji” means “Of a Thousand Treasures,” referring to the legend that thousands passed through the area during migration in ancient times. The park holds ecological as well as historical importance.
The park is home to the rare Chiltan Markhor, as well as other species such as urial, wolves, striped hyenas, and hundreds of bird species. Conservation efforts focus on protecting these endangered animals and preserving the park's fragile ecosystem.
Nature lovers visit Hazarganji for wildlife watching, hiking, and photography. It’s also a research site for ecologists and conservationists.
